HGC Technologies is based in Watford, at Unit 33, Moor Park Industrial Centre, Tolpits Lane, WD18 9SP. We buy used laptops, MacBooks, desktops, servers and monitors from businesses, schools and IT providers across Watford and Hertfordshire, collect them free with our own van, erase every drive to NIST SP 800-88 and IEEE 2883 with a certificate per serial number, and pay at the time of collection.
The equipment comes back to our Watford warehouse for erasure, testing and refurbishment, and is resold rather than scrapped wherever it still has value. That is why we can pay for it.

Watford, Bushey, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley, Kings Langley, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Borehamwood, Radlett, Harpenden, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage, Hitchin and Hertford — and the neighbouring parts of north-west London such as Harrow, Stanmore and Edgware. Collection is free anywhere in mainland UK, so if you are further afield, ask.

There is no minimum quantity — we buy a single MacBook or a whole office.
How it works
- Send us the make, model and quantity, or photos of the labels on the underside.
- We ask the questions that matter — specification, condition, chargers, and whether devices are signed out of iCloud, Intune or Autopilot — then make a firm offer.
- We collect on a day that suits you. Nothing is loaded until the manifest and seller’s declaration are signed.
- You are paid at collection by bank transfer, after our driver checks the equipment against the manifest.
- You receive certificates for every drive, a serialised asset register and a Waste Transfer Note for anything recycled.

Yes. Collection is free across Watford and Hertfordshire, and anywhere in mainland UK, with our own vehicle and two people.

Yes. There is no minimum quantity. You can also post a small number of devices to our Watford warehouse if you prefer.
When do I get paid?
At the time of collection, by bank transfer, after our driver checks the equipment against the signed manifest.
Do you buy from households?
We mainly buy from businesses, schools and IT providers. If you have a recent MacBook or business laptop, send us the details and we will tell you whether we can make an offer.
